Audition Notice:
Clara's Dream: A Modern Nutcracker
West Florida Ballet Company is excited to announce auditions for our annual holiday production, Clara’s Dream: A Modern Nutcracker!
We are seeking talented dancers of all ages and levels to join us for this magical holiday experience.
Audition Schedule & Roles:
**Angels (Ages 3-5)**
Time: 10:00am - 10:30am
Requirements: No previous experience required!
Description: Little dancers will get the chance to perform in this whimsical and sparkling role, bringing joy to the stage.
**Mice (Ages 6-8)**
Time: 10:45am - 11:15am
Requirements: Some experience and basic ballet knowledge preferred.
Description: Energetic and playful roles for young dancers with a bit of dance experience, performing as the cheeky mice in this modern retelling.
**Soldiers / Clara’s Friends (Ages 9-11)**
Time: 11:30am - 12:00pm
Requirements: Previous dance experience required.
Description: Strong, disciplined dancers needed to portray Clara's brave friends and soldiers. This role requires strong ballet fundamentals and stage presence.
**Magical Box / Candy Canes (Ages 6-9)**
Time: 12:00pm - 12:30pm
Requirements: Includes an acro audition; must have basic dance and acrobatic skills.
Description: Magical, energetic roles combining ballet and acro for dancers ready to show their versatility and skills.
**Ensemble (Ages 12 and up)**
Time: 12:30pm - 1:00pm
Requirements: Advanced dance experience required.
Description: Dancers needed for heavy choreography and ensemble performances. This role requires stamina, strength, and the ability to perform complex group numbers.
**Principal Characters (Ages 12 and up)**
Time: 12:45pm - 1:30pm
Requirements: Advanced dance knowledge and at least one year of pointe experience required.
Description: Lead roles in this iconic production! Dancers must demonstrate strong technique, emotional depth, and a mature stage presence.

Date of Audition: August 16, 2025
Location: The Bridge Dance Complex
Dress Code: Please wear appropriate attire for your age group and role, including ballet shoes (and pointe shoes for those auditioning for principal roles).
